The Surrender is upon us

11 06 2009

Thoughts from the past (I’ve been a Christian a while). I remember Kent Henry announcing during a worship session “The surrender is upon us”. Yup back in the nineties.

Well, the surrender is upon us.

God’s people are leaving the outer court, ‘cos God is wooing them, and he is showing them who he is and what he has done. The price that he paid through his blood, through dying on the cross, is so great, so complete, so perfect. Nothing can stop us coming boldly before him, into the holy of holies.

Two awesome videos to help us do this (thanks Hillsong :-) ):

Once there, he is giving us such a pure and holy love for him that living surrendered lives in obedience to him become inevitable.

Let him do that holy work in us. Let us press on (and press in) to apprehend that for which Jesus Christ apprehended us.

Stay Hungry

2 11 2008

“Hosanna”, cried the Jews, as Jesus rode into Jerusalem

“Hosanna in the highest”

According to wikipedia:

“Hoshana” (הושענא) is a Hebrew word meaning please save or save now.

Which reminds me of the cry of David, in Psalm 31:

Turn your ear to me,
come quickly to my rescue;

For me, “Hosanna” is the cry of the hungry for more of God, like the cries of the baby bird for more food
“God, save me!!”

I dunno, I’m just so hungry for more of God, I feel like the plant in the little shop of horrors.
“Feed me!”
“Hosanna, Lord, Hosanna in the highest!!!”

Heres a great clip of Brooke Fraser singing her heart out with the same sentiments

Thanks Brooke! Thanks Hillsong!!

Thankyou Jesus!!!

Cease Striving…

Cease striving and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

He can move the mountains—our God is mighty to save.
